Steven Woodward is President of Woodward Systems Inc., located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He is involved with multiple Enterprise Architecture
communities including, cloud computing working groups for business cases and reference architectures for the US Department of Commerce, National
Institute of Standards for Technology (NIST). In the past two years he has been actively driving enterprise architecture communities to better
collaborate and reduce duplication of effort. He is also a member of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), helping the industry to focus on appropriate
measures, metrics and analytics for cloud computing. He is a founding member of the Ottawa Centre for Research and Innovation Cloud Computing Cluster is a member of the TM Forum Cloud Services Working
Group to define a generic cloud computing information model. He was elected to the International Function Point User Groups (IFPUG) ISO/IEC 20926:2009
Board of Directors in September 2010 and is responsible for International Systems Measurement and Analytics (ISMA) conferences/ education. He has been
chair of “New Environments Committee” and Multiple Media Task force and is the IFPUG - TM (Telecommunication Management) Forum liaison. He has been a
Certified Function Point Specialist since 1994 and a Certified Software Quality Analyst since 1995.
He is an active member in several TM (TeleManagement) Forum communities, with a focus on enterprise architectures and cloud computing, helping define
the standards and models for advanced systems engineering. He is currently helping define the generic cloud computing information model for TM Forum
and the telecommunication industry.
He has a formal relationship with Golarath Systems SEER-IT (Infrastructure) and SEER-SEM (Software Engineering) estimation tools that are leaders in
comprehensive Information Communication Technology (ICT) estimation. He is now adding and calibrating these tools for cloud computing and other
infrastructure assessments relevant for 2011.
He is also a partner with Casewise Systems, a leader in Enterprise Architecture and Information Communication Technology (ICT) frameworks, by
providing templates for TOGAF, Zachman, TM Forum, ITIL, IFPUG and COBIT. He has added critical objects to model and assess advanced solutions including
cloud computing.
Steven is a frequent presenter and instructor on cloud computing, enterprise architectures, software measurement, estimation and governance. This includes the 2010 Mobile World Congress and other events in Chicago, Vienna, Madrid, Toronto and Ottawa.
He is a frequent Information Communication Technology (ICT) trade delegation participant; meeting and networking with international advanced ICT
communities for enterprise architectures, estimation and cloud computing.
He has been in the Information Technology industry for over 28 years and consulting for over 18 years in advanced ICT solutions for hundreds of
companies and governments world-wide. Steven also wrote the chapter on “Using Project Metrics to More Efficiently Manage Projects” in the Addison-Wesley
2002 published book “IT Measurement Practical Advice from the Experts”.
He is writing the chapter on "Cloud Computing Measurement" in the next IFPUG book from industry experts to be published early 2012.
Steven has a security clearance of "Secret Level II" from the Canadian Federal Government.
